BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - LSU climbed up to as high as ninth in national rankings after a series win over top five Vanderbilt but the Tigers were humbled Tuesday night by a visiting McNeese State squad in a lopsided, 7-0 affair.
The Cowboys were consistent, scoring one run in all but two frames. Meanwhile, the Tigers managed just two hits on the night. Five runners reached base on walks but 0-for-15 hitting with runners on base doomed any chance of a rally. Freshman Jake Latz got the start but lasted just 1.1 innings, giving up two runs, including a home run in the first frame of his first career appearance.
The Tigers are back in action Friday at Missouri.
