Pelicans drop season finale to Timberwolves, 144-109

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WVUE) - Seven players available meant Alvin Gentry couldn't do much shuffling with his line-up. The season finale for the New Orleans Pelicans ended up being a game of attrition. An injured Alexis Ajinca was asked to suit up just so the game could be played with the NBA's mandatory 8-man roster.

In the end, game 82 had a similar finish. A 144-109 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns had 28 points and 14 rebounds and the Timberwolves who, with a 28-and-54 record, have the leagues 5th-worse record.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, were paced by Omer Asik, who poured in 24 while adding 11-rebounds. The Pelicans had eleven players on the inactive list.

With the win, Minnesota will have the 5th spot in the lottery while the Pelicans will have the sixth.
