METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

Last night, the Pelicans used seven players on their roster against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And did it show. They got blown 144-109, finishing the regular season 30-52.

"I've never experienced anything like that, and I've been in coaching 38 years. It was just an unusual, weird situation," said Pelicans Head Coach Alvin Gentry. "Jrue gets hit in the eye when he's probably playing the best basketball he's played the whole year. The Anthony Davis thing, Ryan Anderson, just freaky things that never really happened. People thought I was kidding, but I really wanted a voodoo doctor into this place. Because the things that happened, it really didn't make sense a lot of the time."

The Pelicans finished with the sixth-worst record in the NBA, meaning they'll get a pretty good pick in the draft. Now we wait and see if GM Dell Demps and Gentry will be around to make the pick.
