NOPD searches for man in car burglary

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police need help finding a man wanted in connection with a car burglary in the B.W. Cooper neighborhood.

It happened April 11 around 6 p.m. in the 3900 block of Erato Street.

The victim reported finding the man rummaging through tools located inside the vehicle. Police say he removed the victim's black backpack and a red bucket containing the victim's drill. When the victim confronted the man, he told police the individual began reaching into his pocket for what the victim believed was a gun.

The victim then went into a nearby building to call police while the man took off.

A picture of the man was caught on a surveillance camera. He is described as a black male, standing about 5'11" tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was also described as having short black or brown hair and being dark complexioned. The individual was last seen wearing a blue shirt with white lettering and khaki pants.
