NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A man with warrants out for his arrest crashed his vehicle into another car after a short police chase in the St. Roch neighborhood, according to state police.

Troopers saw a driver at Elysian Fields Ave. and Royal St. run a red light. They also believed he had a fraudulent temporary tag. When they tried to pull the driver over, he sped off, according to police.

Police followed the driver on St. Roch Ave. towards the lake. When he got to N. Claiborne Ave., he crashed into a silver sedan. He then took off on foot, but was quickly apprehended by state troopers.

The suspect is identified as Ronald Egana, 32, from New Orleans.

Egana was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. When he gets out, he will be charged with aggravated flight, reckless operation and several traffic violations. He also had four warrants out for his arrest. State police say there may be more.

The woman in the silver sedan was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
