NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A project designed to improve drainage will shutdown a stretch of one Desire Area street for more than a year.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to begin blocking access to Montegut Street on April 18. The street will close between Florida Avenue and N. Dorgenois Street. Local access to the area will be maintained.
The drainage project involves box culvert construction and related utility work.
This closure is estimated to last until the end of 2017.
