NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - With the Ragin' Cajuns hitting their stride, walking into "The Tigue" and leaving with a victory is easier said than done. Southeastern learned that the hard way Friday night in a 4-1 loss.
After trailing by one, the Lions scored their lone run in the third inning when Taylor Schwarner's sacrifice fly scored Chris Eades. From there, UL-Lafayette dominated.
A wild pitch put the home team up 2-1 before Brenn Conrad took Lions' ace Kyle Cedotal out of the park for a solo homer. The Ragin' Cajuns made it 4-1 when Joe Robbins did the same. They were just the third and fourth home runs given up by Cedotal this year.
Southeastern has the home field advantage to close the series. Games two and three will be played on Alumni Field in Hammond.
