BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - LSU pounded out a season-high 20 hits to demolish Missouri 15-2 on Sunday. LSU swept Missouri in a three-game weekend series.
LSU swept their first Southeastern Conference series of 2016, and won its third consecutive SEC series.
LSU exploded for three home runs in the seventh inning to put some distance from Missouri on the scoreboard. Jordan Romero led off the seventh with a home run to left center, Greg Deichmann hit a solo blast to right field and Bryce Jordan left the park for the second time in the series with a no-doubter over the scoreboard.
John Valek III (6-1) started on the mound for LSU, striking out five and walking none over six innings.
LSU returns to Alex Box Stadium Wednesday for a matchup with Southeastern Louisiana at 6:30 p.m.
