NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Clouds have been increasing during the day Wednesday as highs have neared the 80 degree mark again. There's only about a 20% chance for rain as stray showers could make their way into the area. Overnight Wednesday, plan for mostly cloudy skies and lows in the 60s on both sides of the lake.
The better chance for rain will come Thursday. We won't see a washout, but there will be periods of showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm. The system bringing the rain will linger into Friday with decreasing rain chances as the day goes along. It does not look like a significant disruption to Jazz Fest opening day, but you may want to bring a poncho just in case.
The weekend looks fantastic with highs in the 80s and plenty of sunshine. Make sure to wear sunscreen if you'll be outdoors!
