Who Dat Making Headlines: Celebrities mourn the loss of pop legend Prince

Fans mourn the loss of pop legend Prince.

Jennifer Lopez is one of the many across the world sharing their thoughts about the icon's sudden death. She tweeted an image of Prince saying, "Shocked and soooo sad!!"

"I am devastated. I cannot put into words what this man meant to me. To be able to meet him was legendary" Jamie Foxx expressed on his Instagram late Thursday night.

First responders arrived to Prince's Paisley Park Thursday morning to find him unresponsive in an elevator.

Investigators are hoping an autopsy scheduled for Friday will reveal what killed the musician. Prince had canceled concerts in Atlanta two weeks ago because he wasn't feeling well.

The icon's representative says he had been suffering with the flu.

Prince was 57.

Jazz and Heritage Festival kicks off

Organizers expect thousands to fill the fairgrounds to see their favorite artists for the annual Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans.

"Electric Lady" singer Janelle Monae shared her excitement on social media saying, "We are on the way to Nola for Jazz Fest." Before hitting the stage, she'll chat with Solange Knowles for an "intimate artist talk."

Janelle Monae will close out the Congo Square Stage at 5:25 p.m.

New Orleans group Big Sam's Funky Nation enjoyed some downtime before their Jazz Fest performance.

The group hung out at City Park's "China Lights Festival."

Check out Big Sam's Funky nation on the Gentilly stage for 1 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday will be a hot one for sure with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  The "peppers" will close out the first weekend of Jazz Fest on the Acura stage at 5 p.m.

Who can complain with a little "Californication" in Nola?

Other headlines acts for the first weekend of Jazz Fest includes the Hot 8 Brass Band, Pearl Jam, Van Morrison, Maxwell, J.Cole, and Nick Jonas.
