LSU salvages game three of their series with Mississippi State

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

LSU lost their first series to Mississippi State since 2006 on Saturday. Sunday, the Tigers were just trying to avoid a sweep.

The Tigers used 12 hits to score 11 runs and take game three over Mississippi State 11-8. With the win, No. 5 LSU improved to 27-13 on the year and 10-8 in SEC play.

The big hit of the day was designated hitter Bryce Jordan ripping a 1-2 pitch into the left field landing to extend the Tigers’ lead to 8-3. 

The Tigers will return to action Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Turchin Stadium against Tulane.

    Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday.
