BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - LSU lost their first series to Mississippi State since 2006 on Saturday. Sunday, the Tigers were just trying to avoid a sweep.
The Tigers used 12 hits to score 11 runs and take game three over Mississippi State 11-8. With the win, No. 5 LSU improved to 27-13 on the year and 10-8 in SEC play.
The big hit of the day was designated hitter Bryce Jordan ripping a 1-2 pitch into the left field landing to extend the Tigers' lead to 8-3.
The Tigers will return to action Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Turchin Stadium against Tulane.
