NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE)
You can visit a Louisiana State Museum attraction that's been shutdown for months in May.
The Louisiana State Museum will hold a grand reopening ceremony for its 1850 House May 3. The attraction is part of the Lower Pontalba apartment building.
A mold problem caused by a malfunctioning air-conditioning system and a refurbishing project closed the museum for nine months.
According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, State Museum spokesman Marvin McGraw says mold remediation cost $15,000. Refurbishing work cost another $21,000. The State Museum paid for $5,000 of the total cost. A charity called Friends of the Cabildo picked up the rest of the tab.
