ST. ROSE, LA (WVUE) - St. Charles Parish authorities investigating the death of 16-year-old Jorion White have obtained an arrest warrant for White's mother's boyfriend, Daniel Beckley, who is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, according to a warrant from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office obtained by Nola.com|The Times-Picayune.
St. Charles Sheriff Greg Champagne has scheduled a press conference at 2 p.m. to discuss developments in the case.
White was last seen at her Kenner home April 21, officials have said. She didn't make it to school at Bonnabel High School the next day, Friday, April 22, and her family reported her missing later that day.
Her body was found in a ditch along St. Rose Avenue in St. Rose two days later. The St. Charles Parish coroner's office confirmed her identity, but officials have not said whether there were any signs of trauma or how she died.
