NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans city leaders will be on hand this morning for the opening of a $47 million juvenile justice center.
The facility in the 1100 block of Milton Street in Gentilly will house the parish's juvenile court.
It will serve as home for the city's secure detention facility for boys and girls under 18.
Construction on the facility began in February of 2013.
The facility replaces the temporary youth center that opened after Hurricane Katrina.
Today's opening ceremony starts at 2 p.m.
