NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A former colonel with the Orleans Parish Sheriff's office, charged in an off-duty detail scheme, could change his "not guilty" plea today.

Roy Austin, 69, is accused of arranging security details through private companies and then scheming to defraud local entities by padding the billing documents with "ghost employees."

Last month, Austin pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

He is out of jail on a $50,000 bond.
