NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Tulane designated slugger Jeremy Montalbano had the night of a lifetime, Saturday, against South Florida. He belted three home runs as 16th-ranked Tulane rolled to a 7-1 win against USF, thus taking the series.

Tulane (30-14, 10-5) took a lead in the top of the second on a solo home run by Montalbano, before the junior from Katy, Texas, added another solo shot in the top of the fifth. Ross Massey kept USF (21-25, 6-11) off the board until a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth cut the lead in half. But, Hunter Williams posted an RBI-single in the sixth and Jarret DeHart notched a sac fly to give Tulane two runs in the sixth before Tulane netted two runs in the seventh and one more in the ninth on Montalbano’s third home run of the contest.

They'll wrap up this series Sunday, as the Green Wave go for the sweep.
