NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A Go Fund Me site has been established to help increase the Crimestoppers reward to catch the killer of slain Tulane graduate Thomas Rolfes.

The online donation site is asking for donations to increase the reward offered by Crimestoppers.

Interested parties can view or make donations to the site here.

The donation page reads in part:

“Our goal is to provide Crimestoppers of New Orleans a large reward which hopefully will encourage someone to provide a tip to lead police to the person responsible.”

Rolfes was shot to death early Saturday morning near the intersection of Amelia Street and South Claiborne Avenue. Surveillance video shows him at a convenience story purchasing two bottles of water.

Rolfes was with friends earlier in the evening at Ms. Mae’s at the corner of Napoleon Avenue and Magazine Street.

New Orleans police believe the motive for the killing was robbery, but they have yet release how Rolfes went from Ms. Mae’s to the spot he was killed.

Rolfes and his fiance, Elizabeth Fried, were in New Orleans to find a spot for their upcoming wedding.

Crimestoppers has not yet accepted any money raised by the donation fund. There are strict contractual protocols the organization is required to follow before it can accept money from outside sources.

Should the reward not be used, the funds will be dedicated to a scholarship in memory of Thomas Rolfes, the donation page says.
