NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Game one of LSU's trip to Notre Dame was delayed by rain Tuesday and the outcome was delayed by a scoreless draw through ten innings Wednesday but it was the Tigers who emerged victorious, eventually.

Both games of Wednesday's doubleheader were supposed to be seven-inning affairs but the first outing was scoreless all the way through ten innings before junior Jake Fraley blasted a solo home run in the top of the eleventh to put the eleventh-ranked team in the country up, 1-0.

Junior pitcher Hunter Newman closed out the contest in the bottom of the eleventh to improve LSU to 32-16 on the season heading into game two Wednesday night.
