(WVUE) - Their first meeting since 2008 was a memorable one for Tulane and not so much for Southern. The Green Wave put together a five-run, fifth inning to blow open an already one-sided game, to beat the Jaguars 14-2 at Turchin Stadium Wednesday night.
It was the Greenies sixth straight win and their 11th win in the past 12-games.
Hunter Williams launched a Grand Slam in the fifth and that was followed up by a Grant Brown two-run shot in the sixth. It was more than enough run support for Tim Yandel who struck out five over four and a third innings.
The Green Wave get back into conference play this weekend, hosting Memphis beginning on Friday.
