LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

It took help from officers from five jurisdictions to catch and arrest three shooting suspects who deputies say led them on a chase from Lockport, through Raceland to Gray, La. Tuesday night.

Investigators say the report of a man shot in Highway 1 in Larose came into the sheriff's department a little before 8 p.m.

Deputies spotted the suspects' vehicle in the Lockport area. But, when they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to stop.

The chase continued to Mathilde Lane in Gray, where the three suspects jumped out and tried to get away on foot.

Deputies say they apprehended 19-year-old Austin Jackson, 22-year-old Ramon Paul and 21-year old Mactori Doucet, all of New Iberia.

Investigators say they took a handgun from Doucet when they took him into custody.
Deputies recovered the firearm used in the shooting where it had been thrown from the suspect's vehicle in Lockport.

Detectives identified Paul as the gunman in the shooting which they believe may have been drug-related.

Paul is booked with aggravated second degree battery, carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of justice and flight from an officer.

Deputies booked Doucet as an accessory after the fact to aggravated second degree battery, illegal carrying of a weapon and flight from an officer.

Jackson faces charges of aggravated resisting by flight and accessory after the fact to aggravated second degree battery.

Investigators say the chase and apprehension included assistance from the Lockport Police Department, Thibodaux Police Department, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police.
