NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Residents of a Gentilly neighborhood decided to take matters into their own hands after witnessing a woman being robbed at gunpoint. According to a preliminary police report, the 23-year-old woman was in the 4600 block of Venus Street Wednesday night around 7:30 when she was approached by three black males on bicycles.
The woman reportedly told police that one of the suspects got off his bicycle and pulled a gun on her, demanding money. When the woman told him she didn't have any, the three took off on their bikes. Neighbors who saw the armed robbery unfold decided to held, running after the suspects. They were able to capture one of them, holding him until police arrived. The other two are still at large.
Police so far have no released the name or age of the suspect that was arrested.
