PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Locals say it's the greatest seafood festival in the world. Others would disagree.
But either way the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival is going on all weekend.
Seafood isn't the only good thing. Knowing you're going to eat a lot, you can get your cardio in with the 3rd annual 5k run.
You can also dance to great music from a line-up of great bands at the fairgrounds behind the Plaquemines Parish government complex.
There will be car and dog shows. Rides and games the whole family can enjoy.
There are also helicopter ride.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Some of the money raised goes to local charities.
In seven years, festival representatives say they've collected nearly $25,000 for local charity groups and other organizations.
