NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police say a missing 11-year-old girl has been found in good health in New Orleans East. A city spokesman said investigators are working to gather additional information and would provide details when they become available.
Anign Jordan had disappeared last Thursday and was not believed to be a runaway. Detectives said today that they had believed the girl's life was in danger. Louisiana State Police issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory Friday afternoon on behalf of the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office and NOPD.
Police said Jordan was last seen on the evening of May 4 at her guardian's home on Congress Drive. Based on the initial investigation, there was a miscommunication between family members and the child's guardian as to who the child was staying with.
The guardian believed the child was with her adult sister and it was several days before the were able to locate the sister to find out the child was not with her.
