NOPD investigating NO East carjacking

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Two men forced a driver from his vehicle in New Orleans East at gunpoint Saturday night before making off with his car and cash.

The carjacking occurred in the 7000 block of Crowder Boulevard around 11 p.m.

According to a preliminary report from NOPD, the victim, an 36-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle, talking on his cellphone, when two unknown black men approached him. One of the men pulled out a black and silver semi-automatic weapon and demanded he get out of the car.

The victim complied and the two men drove away in his car, also taking the cash in his wallet.

Anyone with information on this carjacking is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 504-822-1111.
