Tulane clinches series against Memphis after 9-5 victory

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Tulane exploded for four runs in the seventh inning to break a 5-5 tie, winning on Sunday 9-5 over Memphis. Tulane's overall record improves to 35-15, their entire win total for all of 2015.

Hunter Williams singled in Stephen Alemais to break the tie in the seventh. The Wave would add three insurance runs after a Williams RBI. Williams also launched a solo home run in the fifth.

Tulane leads the American Athletic Conference by 1.5 games over East Carolina, with a record of 13-6. Tulane returns to action Tuesday night at home against Nicholls State.
