Zephyrs drop late decision to El Paso

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Zephyrs couldn't close the door on the El Paso Chihuahuas who ran away with a 7-6 victory on Sunday.

El Paso scored three times in the ninth inning to stun the New Orleans and take the second game of the four game series.

The Zephyrs got a pair of two-run home runs, one from Issac Galloway in the second inning and the other from Robert Andino in the fifth inning as New Orleans grabbed a 6-4 lead.

Prior to Sunday, Zephyrs reliever Jo Jo Reyes had allowed one run in his last eleven innings spanning six games. El Paso drew a lead-off walk and then five consecutive hits to erase the lead and give the Chihuahuas back-to-back walk-off wins.

The Zephyrs (15-21) have dropped five consecutive games, matching a season high.  New Orleans is also a season high six games under .500.
