A 28--year-old Houma man faces aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and several drug charges after police say he was waiving a handgun at several people.
Houma police say they responded to a disturbance call the area of East Street on Saturday.
They say the suspect, Keyon Hite, was waiving a handgun and also made threats to some women who were standing outside a home in the 2600 block of St. Joseph Street.
As the investigation continued, Houma Police searched for Hite and found him in front of a home in the 200 block of East Street holding a pistol.
Houma police say Hite ran inside the home when he saw them.
Police say he eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
Police say they found a black Hi-Point .45 caliber semi automatic pistol, along with marijuana, crack cocaine and several articles of drug paraphernalia at his home.
He was transported to the jail where he was booked.
