Saints players hit the golf course, but keep focus on football

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - A good amount of players participated in Saints Hall of Fame golf tourney in Kenner. Today the focus was golf, but the players are already looking to the future.

"I'm excited, we all have this mindset of wanting to win. We're not thinking about last year. Just want to move forward. Just everybody in there competing," said Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux.

For others like Nate Stupar it's adjusting from being a Falcon to a Saint.

"I have some good influencers like my dad. He always said it's only poison if you drink it. You can read anything you want in the media, no offense guys. Even against the fans calling me a traitor. Who are you, things that can actually be heard. You just let that slip off your shoulder, off your back. Hey, they don't know what they're talking about. It's a business, it's my job. I don't go to their job and be like why are you doing this, I can't believe you're doing that. Every aspect of you life being pinpointed, or asked about," said Saints linebacker Nate Stupar.

Or in Coby Fleener's case being compared to Jimmy Graham after signing a huge contract with the Saints.

"I don't know. That's not for me to decide. I can't control people's expectations. Jimmy's an outstanding player, and I would be happy to have that kind of contribution to the offense," said Saints tight end Coby Fleener.

Garland Gillen: First time we'll see Coby Fleener in action will be next Thursday. That's the first open practice to the media for OTA's.
