ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Sheriff's Department announces that three men wanted for multiple car burglaries that occurred in the parish, have been arrested in Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol took 25-year-old Thomas Hankerson, 22-year-old Corey Hall and 18-year-old Cedric Camper, all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL into custody Friday, near Tallahassee, FL.
According to police, St. Tammany Parish detectives tied the three to at least five recent car burglaries. Detectives were able to trace the men to Florida after one of them used a stolen credit card.
Police say that investigators are working to determine if the men are responsible for other similar crimes that occurred in the area.
Investigators have given the group of individuals the name, the "felony lane gang," because they would break into cars parked at ball parks, recreation areas and fitness center parking lots and take valuables and purses. They would then take the stolen credit cars to the bank and use the furthest drive-through lane or "felony lane" and pose as the victims while draining their bank accounts.
