NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

For the first time since 2006 Tulane is in the top ten, but no rest for the weary for the Green Wave. Nicholls State comes to town Tuesday, and then Tulane start a three-game series at Houston starting Thursday night.

"I used to spend more time talking about the rankings and the RPI. You tend to do that when you're on the outside looking in," said Tulane Head Coach David Pierce. "When you get in there it's really neat for our program and our kids. At the same time we talk a little bit less about it right now, and just understand it's day-to-day. I just think this group is so mature that they understand what's at stake and they know what we have this week. Stephen Alemais was in my office earlier and said 'Coach, I think this week is a big week' and I said 'yeah, you're right.' So the kids get it, we just go day to day right now."

On the bump for the wave Tuesday is J.P. France out of Shaw High School. In two starts against LSU he gave up only one earned run in 13 innings of work.
