NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The driver of a Lamborghini involved in a fatal accident walked out of jail Tuesday after posting a $75,000 bond.
At his bond hearing, prosecutors said Jason Adams was going 118 mph when he crashed his car into a floodwall May 4 in the Lower Garden District.
Prosecutors also revealed that Adams, a married father of two, had a blood alcohol level of .11g when he was tested two hours after the crash. The legal limit is .08g. Prosecutors said it likely was much higher before the crash.
His passenger, 23-year-old Kristi Lirette, died in the crushed car. Adams was ejected and sustained a broken leg.
Lirette's father said his daughter and Adams were friends. Brett Lirette said Christy was a happy and incredibly joyful person. Her family said they just want to know what happened to their daughter. The family's attorney, Steven DeBosier, said he intends to get that answer for his clients.
