BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Eighth-ranked LSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Northwestern State in the first inning en route to a 7-2 victory Tuesday night.
The Tigers' offense hit a lull while the visiting Demons put two on the board in the third. LSU wouldn't score again until the seventh and eighth innings when they added four total insurance wins. Six pitchers took to the mound for Paul Mainieri as Jesse Stallings got the win for his two inning shutout.
LSU will host the nation's top team, Florida, for a three-game series, starting Thursday.
