Man wanted for ransacking car, stealing gun

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police hope surveillance video will help them find a man who they say broke into a car and stole a gun.

Police say it happened May 11 in the 1500 block of 7th Street about 12:36 p.m.

The victim told investigators that he parked his blue 2007 Ford Expedition SUV in his driveway at about 7 a.m. that day to unload groceries. When he returned to the vehicle at about 7:31 a.m., he found the front of the vehicle's cabin ransacked.


The victim also reported a Glock Model 23 .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol, as being stolen from the vehicle during the burglary. The gun bears a serial number of FPN619. It was last seen fully loaded with 13 rounds

Police say a canvas magazine pouch containing two additional 13-round magazines was also stolen.

After being apprehended, the suspect will be charged with simple burglary of a vehicle.
