RACELAND, LA (WVUE) - Police arrested a woman after she allegedly attempted to run over her ex-boyfriend with a pickup truck.
According to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, deputies were sent to a house in the 2000 block of LA Highway 1 in Raceland just after midnight on Monday, May 16, to check out the report of an aggravated assault. Tracy Eschette, 36, allegedly attempted to run over her ex-boyfriend after dropping him off in front of his home.
Detective say the ex-boyfriend was walking to his door when Eschette turned her car around and started driving toward him. The ex-boyfriend ran and jumped over a ditch in an attempt to escape. Eschette followed him through the ditch before turning back on the highway, where officers pulled her over.
According to Webre, a pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine fell out of her vehicle while police were questioning her. Officers said she crushed the pipe by stepping on it before she was arrested.
Eschette was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux and charged with Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Obstruction Of Justice. Her bond was set at $11,000, but she is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole due to a probation violation.
