Three men arrested for Houma rapes in 2008

Houma police have arrested three men in connection with the sexual assaults of young girls that occurred in 2008, according to a report from the Houma Police Department.

Authorities received a complaint about a sexual assault that occurred around 2008.

The assault, which occurred in 2008, involved three girls ranging in age from five to 10. They were sexually assaulted by various relatives.

The victims, who are currently between the ages of 13 and 18, identified three suspects responsible for the assaults.

The suspects are identified as Evans Toups, 41, who is currently incarcerated in Elayn Hunt Correctional Facility on unrelated charges; Roy Trahan Jr., 37, currently incarcerated in Richwood Correctional Facility on unrelated charges; Louis Strange, 52, Hellier Drive.

All three were charged with first degree rape, molestation of a juvenile and oral sexual battery.

Strange was arrested April 28 at his home on Hellier Street. He was charged with first degree rape.

He was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and booked.

Toups and Strange were contacted at their respective correctional facilities and arrested.

Toups was charged with first degree rape, molestation of a juvenile and oral sexual battery.

Roy Trahan Jr. was charged with three counts of molestation of a juvenile.

The suspects remain in jail.
