NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Cardell Hayes, the man accused of shooting and killing former Saints star Will Smith appeared in Orleans Parish criminal court Friday for a discovery hearing.
The state says it still doesn't have the final autopsy results for Smith.
The state says besides the autopsy results, it's still waiting on a second supplemental report from homicide investigators to be completed.
The judge set another discovery hearing for June 1.
A bond reduction hearing, which can play out like a mini-trial, is scheduled for June 3.
Right now Hayes' bond remains at $1.75 million dollars.
A grand jury indicted Hayes last month for second degree murder and attempted second degree murder charges.
Police say Hayes shot Smith and his wife, Racquel, in April after a fender bender in the Lower Garden District.
The defense maintains Hayes was not the aggressor in the shooting and that a witness saw a gun in smith's possession.
