NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

North Carolina's controversial bathroom law has music icon Elton John on edge.

John called the state's bill "dangerous and "hateful" to the LGBT community. In a political website blog, he wrote the North Carolina law, which requires people to use public bathrooms that match the sex on their birth certificates, isn't just "inconvenient or impractical."

He continues, "As the father of two children, I would hope their world their world is free of discriminatory, hateful legislation like North Carolina's."

Other artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Nick Jonas, and Demi Lovato have canceled concerts in North Carolina to show support for the LGBT community.

The protests by celebs have cost the Greensboro Coliseum hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Actress demands equal gender pay

Actress Robin Wright reveals how she demanded equal pay for her role in Netflix series "House of Cards".

In 2014, Wright's co-star Kevin Spacey was making a half a million dollars an episode while Wright made about 420,000 an episode. The star says statistics showed her character, first lady Claire Underwood, was equally influential to Spacey's role.

Wright threatened to "go public" if she didn't get paid.

Pay inequity is part of a growing trend in Hollywood and the entertainment industry amongst women.

Demands were met and Wright is now executive producer of "House of Cards."

Ruby Rose gets the boot

Let's just call this a "Fry-day" to remember for some workers at a New Orleans restaurant.

The owner of Rebellion Bar and Urban Kitchen located on Camp Street booted actor Ruby Rose after the star threw french fries at him and the staff. Rose, known from "Orange is the New Black" was in town for a performance. The owner says Ruby Rose seemed to be unsatisfied with service, prompting the actor to have a "tantrum."

Ruby Rose defended the actions on Facebook saying after the appetizers were late, the bartender offered free drinks. Rose turned down the drinks because the actor is sober but threw french fries after the bartender made rude comments about sobriety.

"I have mad love for New Orleans and I want to come back 100 times if you will have me", says Ruby Rose.
