HOUSTON, LA (WVUE) -

The Tulane Green Wave entered Saturdays series finale against the Houston Cougars with one thing in mind...win and claim the American Athletic Conference Regular Season Title.

The Wave (37-17, 15-7) did just that, taking a one-run lead late and hanging on for a 4-3 win over the Cougars (33-22, 11-12) to claim the conference crown.

Tulane was led by Hunter Williams who went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Jake Willsey made his presence known, launching a home run in the seventh inning breaking a 3-3 tie. Former Archbishop Shaw Eagle, J.P. France, picked up the win going 4.0 innings, while only giving up two hits and one run.

Jacob Campbell led Houston going 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Saturday's win marked the first time in 11 years that the Wave have won a regular season conference title.
