NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A collision on I-10 claimed the life of a 38-year-old motorcyclist Sunday morning.
According to police, the accident occurred around 12:47 near near Spain Street. Police say a 38-year-old male was traveling eastbound on his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle when he lost control and ran into the back of a 2003 GMC Yukon. The victim was then ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the right lane of the interstate.
Paramedics arrived on scene and rendered medical aid to the motorcyclist, but he died on the scene.
The 51-year-old driver of the GMC Yukon was transported to a local hospital, and is in stable condition. His 17-year-old passenger was not injured.
Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
