NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The Delgado Dolphins are the NJCAA South Central District Champions, again. The team secured the program's third-consecutive district title and third-consecutive berth in the JUCO World Series with their 11-4 victory over Maple Woods Community College Sunday at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Starter Spencer Veit got the win, pitching 5.1 innings with Adam Sinibaldi appearing 3.1 innings in relief before Christian Latino entered for the final out.

With the victory, the Dolphins (36-14) advances to the 2016 JUCO Division I World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. The trip marks the fifth in program history, and the fourth in the past decade.

Sunday's win marks the first time that the program has secured the title at home at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium.

Delgado will open play in the 59th World Series in the feature game on Opening Night, facing Western District Champion Yavapai College.
