(WVUE) - The Zephyrs 8-game home stand got off to a rocky start thanks to a former teammate. Former Zephyr Kyle Jensen's single with two outs in the top of the ninth inning drove in the go-ahead run, and the Reno Aces went on to defeat New Orleans, 6-2 on Monday night.
Tied 2-2 in the ninth, Craig Breslow retired the first two batters before Mike Freeman singled up the middle and Peter O'Brien walked. Jensen then ripped a single to left for his third hit of the game to give Reno the lead.
The Aces tacked on three insurance runs, all of which were charged to Breslow (0-1). The Zephyrs and Aces continue the series on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
