NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

With one swing of the bat, the New Orleans Zephyrs found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Todd Glaesmann's grand slam in the second inning provided all the offense the Reno Aces needed in a 4-1 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Tuesday night.

A two-out error by Austin Nola loaded the bases and kept the inning alive for Glaesmann, whose fly ball to left nestled inside the foul pole and barely cleared the wall for his second career grand slam.

All four runs charged to Z's starter Jarred Cosart (1-3) were unearned.

The Z's look to snap a five-game home losing skid in the third game of the series on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Throughout the summer and into training camp Ed Orgeron said if the season started today, Danny Etling would be his starting quarterback. Tuesday night, Coach O went a step further naming Etling the starter against BYU. “Sunday, we watched all of the tape, and we made the decision to announce Danny as our starting quarterback. A presser hasn't gone by without LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron talking up true freshman Myles Brennan. The St. Stanislaus alum is turning heads with his rocket arm, and accuracy with wide receivers. Offensive coordinator Matt Canada also is a big fan of Brennan, and thinks things will only get better for the backup as the 2017 season progresses. "Myles has gotten better every week. We had a half-scrimmage that first week, really got after it the second week. First time in Tiger Stad...more>>

The Saints have hit the halfway mark of the preseason, and the final 53 man roster is getting clearer. Here's my view at this point in time.  QB (2) Drew Brees Chase Daniel There is no reason for the Saints to keep more than two quarterbacks. It’s obvious who those quarterbacks should be. RB (4) Mark Ingram Adrian Peterson Alvin Kamara Daniel Lasco No change here. FB (1) John Kuhn Once again, easy call. WR (5)  Willie Snead Michael Thomas Ted G...more>>
