NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating two carjacking incidents that occurred Wednesday.
According to preliminary police reports, the first incident, an attempted carjacking, occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 300 block of North Tonti.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was selling merchandise on a local website and agreed to meet with the purchaser.
When they met, the suspect pulled a handgun and attempted to rob the victim of his motorcycle.
The suspect fled after the victim fell from his motorcycle.
The second incident occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 2900 block of Serantine Street.
The victim, a 26-year-old man was approached by a suspect, described as a black male armed with a handgun, who demanded he get out of his car.
A struggle ensued and the victim was able to take the gun away from the suspect.
The perpetrator and another subject jumped into the victim's Hyundai Elantra and fled the scene.
