Tangi women arrested in Washington Parish drug bust

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Working with information passed on to them by Washington Parish patrol deputies, Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force detectives arrested two Tangipahoa Parish women Wednesday for allegedly trying to sell drugs.

Arrested were Michelle McCoy Winters, 43, of Hammond; and Sheila Ann Richardson, 31, of Tickfaw. Investigators said the women were operating near the intersection of Highways 16 and 450 in western Washington Parish.

Seized in the drug arrest were:

  • $1,240 cash
  • 2012 Mazda M3
  • 5 grams of methamphetamine
  • marijuana
  • assorted narcotic pills

Winters’ bond is set at $58,500 and she is charged with:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drugs (2 counts)
  • Possession of Schedule IV Drugs
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Richardson’s bond is set at $50,500 and she is charged with:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drugs
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force detectives have been in touch with Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives concerning the arrest and other crimes that may have occurred in the two-parish area.

The investigation continues and is focused on burglaries in Tangipahoa Parish. In the meantime, both women are jailed in Washington Parish.
