NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A 75-year-old Metairie man has died from injuries he received Monday in a crash with a fuel truck in Kenner.
Just before 10:30 a.m., the man, who was driving a 2015 GMC Denali, pulled out of the parking lot of Dot's Diner onto 23rd Street to travel eastbound. For unknown reasons, he accelerated and began traveling east in the westbound lane on 23rd Street. The driver then ran a red light and crashed into a fuel truck that was traveling southbound on Williams Boulevard.
The victim's name has not been released.
