NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

You don't have to travel all the way to Greece to soak up a little Greek culture.

The 43rd annual Greek Festival this weekend along Bayou St. John will allow you to do that without the need for a passport and a lot less money.

The festival, located at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd, starts Friday at 5 p.m. and is open until 11 p.m.

Saturday the hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Admission is $7 for adults. Children 12 and under are free.

There will be performances by the Hellenic Dancers, The Alpha Omega Sound Band from Atlanta, Cathedral tours, canoe cruises and the Athenian Playground for kids.

Food offerings include baklava, lamb, stuffed grape leaves, dolma, and a host of other delicious options.
