NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The City of New Orleans is reminding residents heading out to various events around the city to plan and be prepared for heavy traffic.
Parking enforcement will be out looking for illegal parking, blocked hydrants, driveways and sidewalks and parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection or stop signs.
Drivers should also remember to park in the direction of travel on one-way streets and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
RTA bus and streetcar services may be delayed or interrupted and any route changes will available at www.norta.com.
2016 GREEK FESTIVAL
The 2016 Greek Festival will be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral complex at 1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd. from Friday, May 27 through Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Greek Festival Parking
In the residential neighborhoods adjacent to the Holy Trinity Cathedral complex, parking enforcement personnel be on patrol.
Cars parked on the neutral ground are subject to a parking violation and seizure.
Please note that vehicles parked in driveways must be clear of sidewalks or they will be ticketed or towed.
On-street parking of recreational vehicles is prohibited and will be enforced 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Parking on the west bank of Bayou St. John (Filmore Ave. to Robert E. Lee Blvd.) is prohibited and will be strictly enforced.

Greek Festival Race
The Greek Festival 1-Mile Race is scheduled for Friday, May 27 starting at 7 p.m. Runners will start at the intersection of Wisner Boulevard and Robert E. Lee Boulevard, proceed river-bound on Wisner Boulevard, turn around before Filmore Avenue, and head back to the start/finish line at the intersection of Wisner Boulevard and Robert E. Lee Boulevard.
The 5-K Race will begin around 7:20 p.m. starting at the intersection of Wisner Boulevard and Robert E. Lee Boulevard, proceed on Wisner Boulevard, turn around at Harrison Avenue, and head back to start/finish line.
2016 TREME 7TH WARD FESTIVAL
The Treme 7th Ward Cultural District will host the 2016 Treme 7th Ward Festival Saturday, May 28 through Sunday, May 29 on Claiborne Avenue under the elevated 1-10 overpass between Basin Street and St. Bernard Avenue.
The festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Claiborne Avenue at the intersections of Ursulines Street, Gov. Nichols Street, Kelerec Street, Columbus Street and Laharpe Street will be closed.
