NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - State corrections officials confirmed Friday that former St. Tammany Parish coroner Peter Galvan will be released from jail on Memorial Day.
Galvan served two years on federal and state corruption charges after being convicted in 2014. The conviction came on the heels of a series of FOX 8 Lee Zurik investigative reports entitled "Body of Evidence."
Galvan had been at the Wade Correctional Facility in Homer, LA, since January.
He will remain on probation until September 2017.
