(WVUE) - On Thursday, Officers from the Houma Police Department, Deputies from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, and Troopers from Louisiana State Police participated in a DWI checkpoint at the intersection of Main Street and Barataria Avenue in Houma.
Of the over 300 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, law enforcement officers stopped five and administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Those tests resulted in four DWI arrests and one citation for an Open Container and having a Suspended Driver's License.
Officers will continue to actively patrol over the Memorial Day weekend. All three participating agencies remind you buckle up, and designate a non-drinking driver if you drink alcohol.
